The short answer
We use AI to help research, draft and illustrate this publication. Every statistic is traced to a primary source and checked against it. Images are generated illustrations, never photographs of real people or events. A person is accountable for what publishes.
Where AI is used
- Research. Locating datasets, statutes and standards, and retrieving them. Findings are verified against the primary source before use.
- Drafting. Producing and editing article text, which is then checked against the data it describes.
- Data processing. Writing the code that pulls and aggregates public datasets. That code is deterministic, and the figures it produces are reproducible from the sources we cite.
- Illustration. Generating images that accompany articles.
Where it is not
- We do not generate statistics. Every number comes from a cited dataset. If a draft contains a figure we cannot trace, it is removed.
- We do not generate quotes, interviews, case studies or testimonials.
- We do not generate photorealistic images of people and present them as staff, customers or real events.

Images on this site are illustrations unless captioned otherwise. They do not depict real jobs, real properties or real people, and they are not evidence of anything. Charts are drawn from the sourced data in the article they sit in.
